OUR STORY

FRANKLY ARTISAN SAUSAGES is a chef driven food truck, run by Chef Bill Cawthon, previous chef de cuisine of Pastaria, Cardwells at Plaza Frontenac and the Four Seasons Los Angeles.



It doesn’t take a big kitchen or a lot of money to make great food. In fact, we saw the food truck as the perfect opportunity to get excellent ingredients straight into the hands of the hungry people of STL.

Out of our desire to bring our taste, style and food sensibilities to the the scene, the cheeky, ‘Chef-driven’ food truck, Frankly Sausages was born. We love the food truck because it’s just us, our food and happy customers.  A chef’s dream.

Taking a nugget of idea, and turning it into a full blown, well received business that supports our family has been the most exciting endeavor of both our careers. This business is our ideas, our dreams, our hard work and truly the representation of our family and our values.

The community we experience at festivals, Food Truck Fridays, Community park events, where we bring our own family, is what it’s all about.

It’s our joy to get to serve the great city of St. Louis our handmade sausages and fries.

OUR PROCESS

Sausages are made from scratch, by hand. All of the meats are antibiotic free, hormone free and humanely raised, featuring local products whenever the best is available. Since opening in early 2016, Frankly Sausages has been named St. Louis Magazine’s “A-List” BEST NEW FOOD TRUCK

Not all food is created equal. With a background in fine dining and a passion for excellent product, Chef is committed to making everything in house and sourcing local whenever local product is best. We don’t just choose the closest product, we choose the BEST product. All of our pork is sourced locally, we grow a lot of our own produce and also source from area farmers.

Our sausages are a labor of love. They contain absolutely nothing artificial, never any preservatives and are made by hand every day by our team. Each style of sausage is made up of unique ingredients, our specials include things like lamb, alligator, wild boar, and local rabbit and duck. 

Our fries are the best in town because every week, our team hand cuts nearly 600 pounds of potatoes! We then brine them overnight and fry them at a low temperature to give them a creamy texture, then they are fried again at a high temperature on the truck to give you that perfect crunch. 

We care about excellence from our team, our handmade production, the welfare of animals and the source of our product, but most importantly, the smile on our customers face.

PRIVATE EVENTS & CATERING

When it comes to private events, sky’s the limit.

In his time in Los Angeles, Chef Bill catered special events for celebrities like Sugar Ray Leonard and Paul McCartney. Now he can come to your party.

In addition to bringing out the food truck, we also cater in private homes or at commercial event spaces. We are happy to design a custom menu for your specific for your event. We can do small, seated dinners for as few at 10 diners to large catered events of 200. Minimums do apply, please email for details.

A favorite option for more casual gatherings is a “brat bar” where we deliver you our famous handmade sausages and an array of topping options to suit all your guests’ tastes. We bring the sausages hot and your guests self serve.
